What if everything you once believed in suddenly turns out to be empty? For years, Kishan* sought peace in meditation and mantras. A growing emptiness eventually leads him on the trail of Jesus Christ.
In autumn 2023, Kishan* walks into the church. He searches and looks around uncomfortably. In Keizerswaard, an evangelist spoke to him and urged him to visit the church. Faithfully, he has been attending the celebrations since that day.
From childhood, Kishan knelt down in front of his altar in the morning. For at least an hour, he meditated, uttering the necessary mantras, causing forces to flow into his body. Every now and then, a guru would stay with him to perform special rites. For years, Kishan found peace this way. But the last time a guru visited his home, the visit ended in a deception. After the guru's departure, Kishan was left feeling empty, disillusioned. Had he dedicated his life to this? A search for the truth began.
Miraculously, some time later, his son returns from the high seas with a special message: on the way, he has met Christians AND has been baptised. His son urges Kishan to go in search of Jesus Christ.
He hesitates, until the day he strikes up a conversation with an evangelist in Keizerswaard. In spring 2024, he attends the Alpha Course.
The accompanying weekend includes ample time for prayer. 'What shall I pray for?' Kishan has only one desire: 'I want to know the truth and devote myself to it.'
There is prayer on the spot, but also in the time after. Three months after the Alpha weekend, he steps up to the pastor of the church: 'I want to part with my altar.' He is still hesitating what to do with all his statues. Some time later, he is more decided: he wants to be baptised as well as remove his images from his life permanently.
Remarkably, Kishan does not just give Jesus a place among his other gods, but wants to break with the past ánd devote himself completely to Jesus Christ as his Lord. In December 2024, there is room for 'deliverance ministry'. It will be a fierce session. At the end, Kishan smashes the images with an axe. Finally, he picks up a book of Vedic scriptures. The book has passed from father to son, yet he puts the axe to it. Finally, he looks relieved. The house is
cleaned up, cleansed and prayers are made for the filling with the Holy Spirit.A few days later, he goes 'head over heels' in the waters of baptism to rise into a new life with Jesus Christ.
